O no
I am getting three of my four wisdom teeth out tomorrow after years worth of intermittent pain as they have erupted.
Despite not being a worrier by habit, I am really nervous about tomorrow. It will be the first surgery I have ever had, and although it is fairly minor, it's still surgery! I worry more because I have SVT, a mostly straightforward heart condition that just means my heart gets off beat sometimes. My dentist knows about it and has dealt with it before. I believe they will even be prepared with meds in case I need them. However, the strange and gloomy spectre of death lurks at the back of my mind... especially since I am a parent now. Yes, yes, there is such a miniscule chance of anything even seriously detrimental to my health happening that this worry may seem extreme to you. Indeed, I laugh at my fear half the time. It's just a combination of what I would consider mental hurdles for me: never having been to the doctor much, never having had surgery, being a parent (and all, all, ALL that entails), and having lost enough people to be aware of/fear everyone's mortality including my own.
Oh yeah, and it kinda pisses me off that I will be losing an entire day of my life to sedation! What a waste!
